SEE --_- "A Family Tradition for 126 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, June 23, 1992-33" Squirt Soccer action On June 17 in Squirt Soccer action, Rent & Save/Cinemax demolished the Lions Club, by a score of 8-2. Justin Moffat was an offensive dynamo, with five goals to=his credit. Jennifer Cook scored twice, and Trevor Candler knocked in one. Josh Sobil, Melissa Mulder and Bra- dy Gray each had some excel- lent scoring opportunities, and Jason Wannamaker, Adam Peacock, Stephanie Mulder and Evan Powell were brilliant on defence. Despite the powerful opposition, Andy Drebit came through for the Lions Club with a goal, and Richard Tracey showed strong determination to score as well. Raglan Welding won their match against Brian's Towing 5-2. For the welders two goals were scored by each of Teddy Howarth and Kevin Robins, and Greg Jeffery got one. The good showing on the scoreboard was the result of a strong team effort, with Kara Olsen, Jordan Beelby, and Erik Hertzberg as- sisting on the goals. Trevor Lance scored both goals for Brian's Towing. Jesse Thomp- son proved to be a well-rounded player, keeping the score down in the first half in net, and then playing a strong offensive sec- ond half. Wes Beattie gave a valiant effort throughout. Darlene Colton Photography triumphed in their game with Flieler's Petro Can 4-1. Nicho- las Byers scored twice for Dar- lene Colton's team, and Justin Shinn and Julie-Ann Domik each got one. Timothy Donohue put in a strong offensive effort, running and passing the ball ef- fectively. John Dutka is start- ing to show improvement and getting into the action. Flielers put in their best team effort to date, and managed to keep the game to a 1-1 Lie at the end of the first half, thanks to some fabulous stops in net by Joseph Kozlinsky. Chris Wygerde got the lone marker, and Amanda Sadler played a good game. Manvers 1 just edged out I.G.A. 3-2. All three Manvers goals were scored by Stephen Stiner. The entire I.G.A. team fought hard throughout, with their goals coming from Shawn Demaio and Matthew Jones. Matthew Jones also had a strong first half in net, stopping all shots. Boston Kowalczvk gave his all offensiely, turning | the ball around many times, and LeAnne Barfoot played an effective running game. Haugen's Chicken Barbecue was overpowered by Manvers 2 - 5-1. Chase Charland proved to be the dominant force for Man- vers again, scoring all five goals. Haugens made a good hard try against a formidable opponent, with Alex Nicoloau and Scott Honey playing a strong defensive game, and Pe- ter Konstantinopolous coming through with a goal. Kevin An- derson did his best in net, mak- ing many stops. Port Perry Auto Glass Sting- - rays were victorious against Trader Sams, 7-2. Spencer Churchill and Matthew Kam- minga shared the glory with a hat trick a piece. Jennifer Van- derMeulen got a goal as well. Laura Batterink and Zach Pith- er each picked up an assist for the Stingrays. Trader Sams markers were from Katie Beir- ness and Clayton Gilmour. Der- ek Fishely put in a superb de- fensive effort, in net and on the field. TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Scugog will hold a Public Meeting on June 29 at 4:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal Offices, 181 Perry Street, Port Perry, Ontario to consider proposed Amendments to the Official Plan of the Township of Scugog and to Zoning By-law No. 75-80, the Comprehensive Zoning By-law. These municipal- initiated Amendments are necessary to implement the policies in the Provincial Policy Statement "Land Use Planning for Housing", to address the findings in the Municipal Housing Statement for the Township of Scugog and to provide and maintain a supply of housing which will satisfy the social and economic needs of the present and future residents of the Township. EXPLANATION AS TO THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE OFFICIAL PLAN AND ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENTS THE LANDS AFFECTED by the Amendments include all the lands within the municipal corporation and more specifically those properties within the Rural (RU), Estate Residential (ER), Hamlet Residential (HR), Rural Cluster Residential (RC), Shoreline Residential (SR), Urban Residential Type One (R1), Urban Residential Type Two (R2), Urban Residential Type Three (R3), Urban Residential Multiple Type One (RM1), Urban Residential Multiple Type Two (RM2), Urban Residential Multiple Type Three (RM3) and Urban Residential Multiple Type Four (RM4) Zones of Zoning By-law No. 75-80. The Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments are textual in nature. THE PURPOSE of the Official Plan Amendment is to: Establish policies under Section 1.3 entitled "Housing", Section 2.2 entitled "Residential Areas" and Section 2.3 "Main Central Area" to address the findings in the Municipal Housing Statement for the Township of Scugog which was prepared in accordance with the Provincial Policy Statement "Land Use Planning for Housing". The policies relate to the provisions and maintenance of housing which is accessible, affordable, adequate and appropriate to the needs of the households in the municipality. The Amendment shall apply to all lands in the Corporation of the Township of Scugog. THE PURPOSE of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to: 1) Permit accessory apartments and boarding or rooming houses in all residential zones and the Rural (RU) zone. 2) Delete all references to converted dwelling house. 3) Add provisions for accessory apartments under the General Zone Provisions and Definitions Section. Add provisions for boarding or rooming houses under the General Zone Provisions Section. 4) Add single-family detached, semi-detached and duplex dwelling house uses to the Urban Residential Multiple Type Zones (RM1, RM2, RM3, RM 4) 5) Reduced the minimum lot area and frontage requirements for a semi-detached dwelling house from 330 sq. m (3552 sq. ft.) to 297 sq. m (3197 sq. ft.) and 10 m (33 ft.) to 9 m (30 ft.) respectively. 6) Reduce the minimum lot area and frontage requirements for a duplex dwelling house from 650 sq. m (6997 sq. ft.) to 594 sq. m (6394 sq. ft.) and 20 m (66 ft.) to 18 m (60 ft.) respectively. 7) Add semi-detached and duplex dwelling house uses to the Urban Residential Type One (R1) and Urban Residential Type Two (R2) Zones.
