Letters fo the editor Our thanks to those all who support local animal centre To the Editor: To the many people who have given of their knowledge and support. We can hardly believe our good fortune since we moved to Port Perry. Thank you Pete Kneale of Paulmac Pet Foods, for your generosity and continued con- cern for the animals. Thank you to the Kinsmen Club of Port Perry, for your in- terest and generous donation. Thank you to our volunteers: Vicki McWhirter, Edna Brun- ton and Mandi Edgar of Port Perry who come in each week to help with cleaning and care of our animals. Thank you to Linda Nesbitt of Uxbridge, who has worked with us to save the lives of hundreds of our cats over the years. Thank you Dr. Randy Larsen of Utica who comes in each week to volunteer his time and knowledge of any medical prob- lems to advise us if veterinary treatment is required. Thank you to the children of R.H. Cornish School, andStone- moor Day Care for.donations of money and food. Thank you to Uxbridge Vete- rinary Clinic, who have tended to all our sick and injured stray animals for the past 20 years. Whether it be a turtle with a broken shell, a dog with a brok- en leg, no animal is turned away. Our "Doggy Banks" help to pay only a portion of the costs involved in treatment of strays and wild animals. Thanks to all who have do- nated to our shelter, we appre- ciate your support. Last but not least, thank you to the Port Perry Star, Scugog Citizen, Compton Cable TV and Uxbridge Times Journal for your most appreciated coverage of animals for adoption. With- out your help, many healthy an- imals would lose their chance for adoption. We welcome your visit to our Animal Centre at 1360 Reach Street where we can guarantee only "Proud Canadian" dogs and cats available for adoption. Ann Barrett, Animal Control Officer.
