Summer is moving right along with more seasonal weather; lots of sunny days with the welcome showers to make good growing weather for gardens and crops. One morning early while looking out of the window, over the pond, we saw an unusual sight; a very large otter was moving quickly across the meadow in the direction of the road. This is the first otter we have ever seen here. They have likely been killed off due to their valuable dark brown fur. We heard later that some hunters saw it in the wooded area east of the farm, about a mile or so, headed for the creek!
