The round robin format used in the tournament had the Mo- Jacks up against Millbrook for their first game. The MoJacks broke out on top 3-0 but then the bats went back to sleep as they couldn't muster another run and ended up losing by a 6-3 count. Matt Kay took the loss on the mound striking out eight Mill- brook batters. MoJacks only hits in this game were by Darryl Moase and Doug Short with a single each. The ModJdacks second game was against Lakefield and somebody must of woke up the MoJack bats as they pounded Lakefield by a 12-2 score. Tim Fitzpatrick pitched the win for the ModJacks striking out five along the way. Doing the hitting for the ModJacks were Marc Versage with three singles, Owen St. John, Jeff Clarke and Jason Best two sin- gles each, Brad Morton a single and double, Jason Logan and Doug Short a single each, Ryan Hawkins a double and Tim Fitz- patrick a triple. The ModJdacks came up against Norwood in their third game of the tournament and quickly found themselves trail- ing bya 3-0 margin. Tim Fitzpa- trick was on the mound for the ModJacks and was keeping the Norwood batters off the score- board giving his team a chance to come back and finally they did going out front by a 4-3 score. This was Tim's second game in a row on the mound and he started to tire as Norwood wore him down and jumped back out front 6-4. Matt Kay came in to pitch out of the trouble and shut Norwood down the rest of the way and the MoJacks rallied for three more runs to come away with a 7-6 win. Doing the hitting in this game for the ModJdacks were Ja- son Logan with a booming homer, Doug Short a double and singles to Tim Fitzpatrick, Dar- ryl Moase, Brad Morton and Jeff Clarke. The win put the MoJacks into the 'B' championship against a team from Roseneath. The Mo- Jacks jumped out front 1-0 but then by the end of the third in- ning they found themselves trailing by 4-1. Once again the MoJacks came from behind as they scored four runs in their half of the fourth for a 5-4 lead which they held onto for the fi- nal three inning to take the win. Matt Kay was on the mound for the MoJacks and went the distance striking out 10 Rosen- eath batters while taking the win. The MoJack hitters in this game were Jeff Clarke with a single and triple, Marc Versage two singles, Jason Logan a dou- ble and Doug Short and Tom Chambers with a single each. Special mention to Darryl Moase for a sensational catch he made in right field in the last inning of the final game. The MoJack boys were given medallions from the tourna- ment organizers and Matt Kay was given a very nice award as tournament MVP. Well done Matt!
