This Friday, Aug. 14 will see the teams ven- ture out for their first road games. Just down the road to Water Street, 6 p.m. start for Port Perry General Store and the Spitfires. The 7 p.m. game sees LizyLou Decor versus Port Perry Muffler and Brake. Last Tuesday's games saw LizyLou Decor up against the General Store crew. Kelly Blair, Kyle Harrison and Andrew Ad- ams were tops for LizyLou while John Marsh, Deena O'Hare and Carly Churchill led the attack for the General Store. Game two had the Spitfires compete with Port Perry Muf- fler and Brake. Top guns for the Spitfires were Jeffery Darwood, Caitlin Baker and Michael Red- man. Muffler and Brake aces were Jennifer Corbett, Keenan Geer and Michael McKena. Let's hope for good weather for our Friday wrap up. The Heaters left Greenbank with four Pee Wees and 10 Squirts. They played against teams. from Belleville, Trenton and Oshawa who were all Pee Wees. The first two games they came up against some pretty tough competition, taking the loss. The third game was the most exciting of the day. Perfect Heating played the Connaught team from Oshawa. The score at the end of the second was 8-4 for Oshawa. The Heaters managed to get three runs in the third and held Oshawa in both the third and fourth. The score at the end of the fourth was 8-7 for Oshawa. In the fifth Perfect Heating again held Oshawa. With bases loaded and two out Carl Phoe- nix hits a grand slam and Per- fect Heating wins it 11-7. The tournament awarded MVP prizes. For the first game Trevor MacSween won a prize, Atom Division August 4 Pineridge Sports - 4 Big V Drug Store - 2 Goal scorer for Pineridge was Gordon Kilner. Goal scorer for Big V was Da- vid Hallward. Both teams played an excel- lent game with Pineridge Sports overpowering Big V Drug Store by two goals. Gor- don Kilner played an aggressive game scoring all four goals for Pinendge, one assisted by Col- leen Barfoot and another by Steven Wygerde. David Hallward of Big V scored both goals for his team. Chole Desmaris and Jocelyn Dunn both put in excellent ef- forts. Kenny Lukas, of Pinendge was in top form for the game A good time was had by all. Mite action Pizza Delight vs Seagrave Higgon & Clark On one team, there's Mat- thew, Donny, Rose, Pierce, Greg, Stephen, Nicole, Michael and Chelsea. On the other team, there's Jordon, Ryan, Ja- son, Steven, Jeffery, Kim, Shee- na, Kolt, Chris, Cory and David. Put the two together and you get an exciting 7-8 game be- tween Pizza Delight and Sea- grave Higgons & Clark. With only one regular season game left before the Aug. 15 tourna- ment. Both teams were gearing up for this challenge with great hitting and fine defences and there was plenty of scoring by both teams, first inning - 5-4 for Pizza; second inning - 8-4 for Pizza, third inning 10-8 for Piz- za in the last inning both teams scored several runs and Pizza Delight held on for the win Great game for all the players. Don't forget Aug. 15 tournament at R.H. Cornish and Perry Glen starting at 9 am. Nine a.m. at R.H. Cornish: 11 a.m. semi-finals; 1 p.m. - final. East - Philp vs Schildt Machin- ing, west - Pizza Delight vs Greenbank; north - Seagrave vs Van Camp; Perry Glen - Hank's vg Cottrells See you there. the second game Travis Howell and the third was Carl Phoenix and Ben Frith. Coaches Judy MacSween and Joe Yakeley would like to men- tion how proud they are of this Greenbank team. Not only did they all make some totally awe- some plays, to many names to mention, they all showed great sportsmanship against these older teams, which was more important than winning. The Pee Wee Squirt team played in the Oshawa tourna- ment over the weekend. Pictured are the members of the team. Goal scorer for Manvers was Chase Charland. Port Perry Printing "Stormers'-1 Atom soccer action Royal Canadian Legion -3 Goal scorer for Port Perry Printing was Brian Harris. Goal scorers for Royal Cana- dian Legion were Angela Guter, (one) and Jodi May, (two). Laurentian Bank - 4 Port Cleaners - 4 Mites ball action On Aug. 3 there was plenty of action at R.H. Cornish as Schildt Machining went up against Philp Pontiac. Both teams were demonstrating their improved skills of both batting and fielding with a close game right up to the final in- nings. For Schildt Machining, Jus- tin Sandérs had two good hits: Derek Bond, good play at sec- ond and third; and Deena l.ar- son had a fine hit. The shining star for Schildt was Scott Evans who had two very strong hits and fine fielding at second base on two occasions. Coach Copit- horn would like to thank his parent helpers, Martha Larson, Mary Evans and Mr. Munson. Your support has been much appreciated. The three stars for Philp Pon- tiac were: Luke Pikey wath two good hits; Katie Walhout with three good hits; and Justin Shinn who showed fine fielding skills. Final score was Schildt Machining. 18-12 for Hank's wins again Hank's Pastries made it two in a row, after winning a close game against Cottrell's Cus- pids, 16-14, on Monday, Aug. 3. Getting key hits for Hank's were Sara Dubuc, Michael Elas- chuk, Marshall Irwin, and Tyl- er Weisflock.
