Lots of action in mini soccer despite the cool temperatures There was some "hot" soccer playing last week, despite the cold weather. The mini teams showed intense dedication as they played through unseason- able temperatures. A warm round of applause to Subby's Submarine as they took F.A. Slinger by a 4-0 margin. Great defense by F.A. Slinger held Danny Halward to two goals. Blake Cunningham scored one goal as did Tyler Cunningham, and a scoreless second half rounded out this great game. For F.A. Slinger, Christopher Spence and An- drew Adams receive honorable mention for their hardy effort. Re/Max Realty just edged out Nuts About Chocolate for a 2-1 victory. Daniel Bois and Kyle Geer each scored a goal, and Adam Smart threatened to wid- en the lead many times with near misses. Tim Cruickshank got Nuts' goal, and narrowly missed tying the match with a hard kicked ball which just hit the goalpost. Duncan MacKen- zie also had some good breaka- ways, and Emma Bowers played stalwart defenae Fowler, Davies lost their game against Manvers 1, 3-0. The Manvers team was held scoreless for the first half, but broke the game open in the sec- ond. Andrew Hale and Celine Batterink both played a great game.
