"A Family Tradition for 126 Years" Building permits increased substantially in September September's building permit figures were up substantially over the same period last year. According to the Township of Scugog's building permit re- port, a total of 22 permits were issued last month with a value of $994,450. This is up substan- tially from September, 1991's figure of $579,300 for 23 per- mits. Leading the way was single family dwellings with five per- mits sold at a value of $595,000. For the same period a year earli- er only one permit was sold at $150,000. Single family additions and alterations dropped during the same period however, to six per- mits worth $182,950 from 12 permits valued at $357,300. A total of 58 permits were issued at a value of $1,114,584, compared to 66 per- mits worth $1,721,215 the pre- vious year. The only category that showed a significant gain was the industrial sector. For the first three-quarters of this year 15 permits were issued at $807,000 more than doubling the seven permits last year at a value of $216,000. For the same period in 1991 three permits were issued at a value of $817,000. Alterations and additions in this category were also disap- pointing asonly two were issued for a value of $8,000 compared with nine permits worth $266,800 for the same period in 1991.
