Rev. Tom Gem- mell is the guest speaker for both morning and evening. The Oshawa Salvation Army Bank will be with us at the 11 a.m. service, with the Celebration Choir from Markham under the direction of Mrs. Lillian Reesor for the 7:30 p.m. service. Re- freshments will be served and a social hour. Several from Ashburn en- joyed the annual beef dinner at Brooklin United Church last Wednesday evening. Muriel and Harold Fisher en- joyed Thanksgiving weekend at Gwen Cassady's cottage at Bea- verton. Doug and Florence, Ron and Pat Ashton travelled to Orange- ville on Thanksgiving Sunday, enjoying dinner with Mrs. Ruth Purdy, and Arnold Ashton from Toronto. During its 40 years, the department has been known as the Caesar- ea Fire Department (1952-62), the Cartwright Fire Department (1962-74) and the Scugog Fire De- partment Hall 2 (1974-present). The firefighters marked the anniversary during Fire Prevention Week. Making sure the festivities didn't get out of hand are firefighters Doug Ollitfe, Richard Miller, and retired firefighter Ray Gould. Luncheon and cards on Oct. 26 disappointed.
