Sunshine Harbor wins Ontario Sire Stakes Sunshine Harbor came from behind with a strong move in the final turn to capture her first Ontario Sires Stakes victo- ry of the season at Sudbury Downs on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1992. The two-year-old pacing filly was clocked in 2:02.3, win- ning one of two eliminations of the Grassroots Series contested at the northern oval. Driven by her trainer Wayne Dowson, Sunshine Harbor left from post four and settled along the rail in fourth place for the early going. The daughter of Coal Harbor - Sunshine Drive came to the outside along the backstretch and made her chal- lenge for the lead at the three- quarter mile marker. Working her way up to second in the final turn, Sunshine Harbor pulled away in her final strides to take her fourth victory of the year by one length. Owned by Paul and Gienn Van Camp and Wayne Dowson of Port Perry, Ontario, Sun- shine Harbor has made $7,808 in 13 starts this season. This win earns her a berth in the $20,300 final of the Grassroots Series at Sudbury Downs on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
