The leaves have been beautiful but the heavy rains and wind are making them fall rapidly. Plans are well underway for the annual Blackstock Fiddle Contest which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, this week. The programme begins at 7 p.m. sharp so plan to arrive in good time. If you wish to enjoy a deli- cious dinner before going to the Fiddle Contest the Anglican Church ladies are busy prepar- ing for their annual Fall Supper which will be held at the Parish Hall on Saturday evening, be- ginning at 5:30 p.m. Sympathy of the community is extend to Mrs. Florence Larmer and Miss a Larmer on the passing last week of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Walt Larm- er. The funeral was held in Port Perry last Tuesday. Our community was shocked to learn of the passing of John Arbuckle on Wednesday after- noon at his home near Nestle- ton. Sympathy is extended to his wife Linda and three daugh- ters as well as to his many other relatives and friends. Congratultaions to Earle Tre- win and Marlene Bray who were married in a lovely wed- ding on Saturday evening at the Blackstock United Church. The reception and dance were held in the very beautifully decorat- ed Rec Centre. Best wishes Earle and Marlene. Dale and Janet Van Camp and children spent Thanksgiv- ing week end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ford, Meca- ford. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Joyce Taylor and her famly on the passing of her tather Mr Noble of Uxbridge. Rev. Thanksgiving dinner was held at the home of Chris and Grace Johnston, Kevin and Heather of Uxbridge with Cecil and Marie Gibson, Peter and Ann Vanderheul, Boyd Vande- rheul, Julia Vanderheul of To- ronto, Eleanor and Wayne Mac- Donald and Gareth of Whitby, as guests. Annette McQuaid, Steve and James hosted a Sunday family Thanksgiving dinner with the following guests, Teresa and Roger McQuaid, Stephen, Ralph and Marshall of Caesar- ea, Dawn and Dave Ellis, Jody Miller of Oshawa. The Hospital Auxiliary Fash- ion Show will be held at the Blackstock United Church on Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. beginning with dessert. Tracy Hoskin 1s in second year at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough taking business administration. Mrs. Ted Olson of Gimh, Manitoba visited with Gerald and Joyce Kelly for a week.
