Choir practice Thursday The Fidelas unit of the U.C.W. met at the church on Wednesday afternoon. There was a good attendance to enjoy the inspiring devotion, on Re- membrance and Thanksgiving presented by Pat Raines, Ruby Dusty and Helen Parish. A pretty wedding was held in Greenbank Church on Satur- day, when Leslie Baars and Douglas Dusty took their vows. Best wishes, newlyweds. Practice will be held each Thursday evening from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. An interesting craft show was held Friday and Saturday at the Green home. Many beautiful items were displayed by the craft people. The participants came from Peterborough, Bow- manville, Scugog Island, Brook- lin, Port Perry, Belleville, To- ronto, Leaskdale, and Greenbank. Most enjoyed tea and coffee and sweets in the sun room, served by Micheal Green. They made lists of various ways we eat apples. They arranged the different rec- ipes into categories such as snack, lunch or dinner. They also surveyed the Grade 6 class to discover what was the most popular way to eat apples. The Grade 6 students enjoyed Norbert Nipkin by Robert McConnell. They used the sto- ry/poem to gather ideas for writ- ing a story/poem on the comput- er. Grade 5 students went to S.A.Cawker for prologue to the performing arts. Title of perfor- mance - My Diskette. Two per- formers made music using unu- sual instruments and a diskette was put into a piano keyboard. Grade 3/4 students have started games period that in- volve strategies and thinking skills such as chess, checkers and others. The girls and boys volleyball teams went to the S.A. Cawker tournament. The girls won a few games and the boys won the championship. Thank you for holding the tournament and for a delicious supper. The Director of Durham Board of Education, Pauline La- ing, spent Wednesday morning at Greenbank School visiting classrooms, staff and having tea with Greenbank/Epsom par- ents.
