On Wednesday, I went to the Uxbridge Community Care Centre and was so pleased with the Remembrance Day pro- gram presented by the Epsom School children. The residents passed many compliments. Saturday saw Epsom-Utica Session working hard prepar- ing and serving a wonderful beef supper. It was "help your- self" there's more in the pantry. The dessert was apple crisp with ice cream who could ask for more. On Sunday, another beauti- ful day, so many enjoyed the for- mal opening of the new senior's home. } The high school and legion bands marched in and friends by the hundreds came to enjoy a beautiful opening ceremony. We enjoyed everything (even the speeches) then the Gibson Band played, then continued with their beautiful music while everyone enjoyed a cup of tea and plates of goodies and visited. The school children are going to see "The Phantom" one day this week. Doug and Margurite Wagg of Western Ontario formerly of Markham celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Satur- day in Stouffville at a party ar- ranged by their family. Betty and Norm Tapscott were guests. Last week Karen Vanderbo- gard and son Ryan visited Mrs. Ruth Ashton one afternoon and Ruth's friend Nell Laird was a lunch guest on Sunday. On Thursday evening we had a blackout so a large group de- cided to shivaree Beth and Scott Wilson, now Beth didn't know anything about shivarees so im- agine all this noise at your door and no lights. Come to the Uxbridge Seniors meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Tues- day, Nov. 17. The Uxbridge Community Care are having a craft sale and bazaar, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the arena hall. There will be lucky draw tickets, San- ta and a photographer, tea room and lunch. This should be of in- terest to many in our area. Last week a group of the Women's Institute Ladies at- tended the Annual District Con- vention at the Royal York. On Saturday, Nov. 21 at 1 p-m. the Women's Institute will host a "Entertaining with a Flair" workshop. We will be joined by the Bethesda 4-H Club and any ladies who wish to attend. This will be held at the home of Mrs. Marilyn Stroud. Our best wishes to Dianne El- lins who had the misfortune to fracture her ankle recently.
