Nursing Home Petites win 19-0 blowout The Community Nursing Home Petites dominated their second consecutive opponent. Last week it was a 13-6 win, this week it was a 19-0 drub- bing of Markham 1. Recording her second shutout of this young season was Jenni- fer Hammond. Jennifer made some impressive stops despite the lopsided score. One early in the game while lying flat on her back stretching out her stick to preserve the shutout. Every player on the ice had the chance to play forward and defence. It's nice to see the un- selfish nature of these girls who are willing to learn another po- sition to better the team in the future. The only player who did not make the scoresheet was Mi- randa Burgess who skated miles in helping other girls get their first goals of the year. leading the scoring barrage for the Community Nursing Home Petites was regular de- fence player Lauren Christie with four. Her defence partner Jennifer Imrie had three and Leanne Davison, showing new confidence, also had three. Players who each had a pair are Jennifer Donnelly, Melissa Hooker and Lisa LeFort. Sin- gles went to Alicia Burgess, Leanne Holt and Cathy Cooper. Assists went to Jennifer Im- rie and Cathy Cooper each with three. Alicia Burgess, Lauren Christie, Leanne Davison and Melissa Hooker all had a pair of assists. Singles went to Jenni- fer Donnelly, Leanne Holt and Lisa LeFort. This domination is the result of some excellent checking, skating, passing, ring handling and some very intelligent play from this fine group of young la- dies. Keep up the great practicing girls because your individual ef- forts are showing in an awe- some team game.
