It was certainly a beautiful finish for this workshop. After the meal Mrs. Bruce showed us how to make a centrepiece using a potato, some hemlock branches and a candle. On Saturday afternoon and evening the Pine Ridge girls had a wonderful group to enjoy their program at the Music Hall. Several from Epsom were present. At our U.C.W. meeting Tues- day , Dec. 8, at Epsom Church, Goodwood ladies will be our guests for a noon pot luck lunch. On Thursday we hope to see. all the Epsom area ladies at the shower for Tammy Vanuden at# the home of Alice at7p.m. On Dec. 12, the Bethesda Reach Women's Institute will have their Christmas buffet dinner at the home of our presi- dent Barbara Evans at 6:30 p.m. Instead of exchanging gifts we will bring a donation for the Food Bank, and a donation of food for the dinner. Also bring your own place setting. Jennifer Asling from McMas- ter University in Hamilton was with her grandparents Don and Stella Asling for the weekend. Ken and Beth Catherwood visited with her mother Ruth Ashton on Sunday. The Uxbridge Community Health Care Centre had a very successful bazaar last week. They also served lunch, the usu- al wonderful Christmas. pud- -ding. The money from this was again donated to Alzheimer's Disease. There are Craft Happy Ham- pers for children available from Durham West Farm Child Care - 985-3831. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor vis- ited Mrs. Muriel Todd of Mark- ham on Saturday as it was her 90th birthday. Company with Norine and Al- lan Card on Sunday was Don and Linda Card and daughter Linsey. Margaret Cope of Orillia was an overnight guest of Betty and Norman Tapscott. A large number from our community attended the Christmas Concert at the Bap- tist Church in Uxbridge. Bill and Melba McKay visited daughter Elspeth Deir and her husband and family in King- ston last week. Rachael Sutherland visited Vicki Ashton on Sunday after- noon. Dec. 13 will be White Gift Sunday, also Food Bank Sun- ay. Bill Ryall and Mrs. Carol Sie- vert of Nova Scotia were lunch guests with Don and Stella Asling on Friday. Mr. Doug Astle associate lay minister, took part in the ser- vice at church on Sunday. The second Sunday Advent Candle was lit by Pat Suther- land and her daughter Andrea and Rachael and son Sean. Dec. 13 - White Gift Sunday. Dec. 20 - Christmas Concert at Epsom. Dec. 24 - Christmas Eve Ser- vice at Epsom. Communion will be served. Dec. 27 - Goodwood, Epsom and Utica will have a combined service at Utica at 11 a.m. Paul Baster and Shirley were supper guests with her parents on Sunday, with many returns of the day to her father Jim Jones, whose birthday they were celebrating.
