It's about get- ting together with family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus, also life, health and peace. That is the true meaning of Christmas! Is the best time of the year, The season to be cheerful and laugh when friends come near. Sure we give out presents, Sure we laugh each day, When the kids eat chocolate candy all of the day. EMMERSON INSURANCE BROKERS LIMITED Joyous Christmas stories and pocms The Memorable Christmas by Melissa Gouldburn The year was 1991 and the Sheldon family was all ready for Christmas and really excited too. Because their father was coming home on Christmas Eve. Sarah, the Sheldon's youngest daughter made her daddy a Santa puppet, and was very proud of it. Shane, Sarah's older brother bought his dad a new tie for work, and took a lot of time picking it out. The Shel- don's house was all decorated for Christmas. They had picked out the largest tree and it looked fabulous. Mr. Sheldon was away on business. He had been called away on short notice and planned on coming home for Christmas but didn't know if he would makeiton time. Finally Christmas Eve had arrived. Sarah and Shane were all hipped up about Christmas and their father coming home. They had a cake all ready that said "Welcome Home and Mer- ry Christmas" on it. It was late in the afternoon and Mr. Shel- don still hadn't come home yet. They thought that maybe"the plane had been delayed because of the snow. But at about 10:30 p-m. Sarah and Shane's father still hadn't arrived at home and the sky was as clear as glass. Shane and Sarah had fallen asleep in the den waiting for their father, but he never came that night. The next morning before any- one had gotten up Mr. Sheldon came home, he walked in as quietly as he could and sat be- side the tree, waiting for Shane and Sarah. When Shane and Sarah went into the living room they were so surprised to see their dad sitting beside the Christmas tree. Shane and Sa- rah ran to him and gave him the biggest hug in the whole wide world and the best Christmas ever.
