Jim, Margaret, Colin, Heather Lawrence and Staff of BRUTON'S IDA DRUG STORE A special time to celebrate Christmas by Elizabeth Wood To me, Christmas is a time to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also a time to give gifts and share your love. Every year we celebrate, but we some- times forget why, Joseph took the Virgin Mary to the stables where she gave birth to Baby Jesus. There he lay in the manger, while the three wisemen, who had followed the star to the stables, where they gave Jesus (the soon to be King) three gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh. This is what started the tradi- tion of gift giving. Christmas is not a time to expect gifts (al- though most of you readers know you will receive presents anyway), but you should do your best to give them instead. So when you think of Christ- mas, don't think of Santa or mom and dad under the tree with your presents, think of the warm feeling you get when you give someone else a gift, and re- member the Christmas story. Christmas Story by Troy Campbell It was a cold Christmas. Eve- ryone was at home having their hristmas dinner before they went to bed. I was at the park bench all by myself. I was lonely watching the people eat and having a d time. My parents died and was all alone for the first time in my whole life. The police said that they got into a car crash and they died on the way to the hospital. And that if there was anything they could do to just give them a call. I was walking own the street and I saw m friend Joe. I said hi and then woke up. : Christmas Poem by Casey VanSchagen Christmas is onthe 25th We have Christmas every 25th We open our presents on the 25th Santa comes on the 24th Igo tobed on the 24th That is why I like the 25th and 24th. Merry Christmas to all, And to all a good night! Sleep tight. By Sarah Stapley It's not the presents you may t. The Barbie doll, or Mini-Car set. It's not the skinny baby doll. The twirl-around toy or shop- ing mall. t's not Santa's big fat bell A plate of candy, a bow] of jelly. It's not the skis, the sled, the toys. Lhe stocking filled for girls and ys. It's not the trees, the trimmings or bows. The silver tint of fresh fallen snow. It's not the awesome Superman. Or Oscar in the garbage can. The greatest gift to come our way. Was Jesus Christ on Christmas May the warmth and wonder of this joyous season embrace you and yours, now and throughout the year, To our loyal friends and customers, thank you for your valued patronage.
