It was decided to plan an- other supper for March 31 at the Island Hall. So mark this _date on your calendar. It will be ham and scalloped potatoes this time. Your favorite, I'll bet you are saying. Yi Another important Anniver- sary worth celebrating is on its way-namely the Head's 45th and time to remember the many changes and former friends. The annual Craft and Coun- try Cooking date is set for April 17 so please cgiisider your en- tries. Grace Love sorted through her many clippings of readings and contests and had found a couple of very interesting ones to present. Cecil Fralick at the Foot of the Island is hospitalized with pneumonia. It is 30 years since he became confined to a wheel- chair following a well-cleaning Supper planned for March 31 job. But he did not let that deter his useful life in the business world for years with the help of his loyal wife and family. It is quite some time since he needed hospital treatment. He is in the same room with Gilbert Reader, formerly of the Island and who suffered a stroke five weeks ago but is responding to therapy. Watching a very polished show on T.V. one evening, I was reminded of a story told by the B.B.C. producer Howard - hart of that evergreen star Gra- cie Fields. She was top of the bill in one variety show Howard was pro- ducing, and he was surprised to see her getting more and more agitated as it came nearer her turn to go on. "You're not nervous, are you?" he asked. "I'm petrified" she replied, "You see, when you are on a pedestal it's easy to be toppled off!" I would go so far as to say that we are all on pedestals of various heights, and though perhaps we haven't so far to fall, I hope we all try as hard as Gracie did, to keep on our own small pedestal of self-respect.
