Twen- ty-four ladies enjoyed our Feb- ruary meeting. The theme "Love" was presented by Marie Foster, Margaret Couperth- waite, and Helen McKean. Mat- thew 5:44-48 lead the scripture and Betty Stone played her key board for a sing song. Several readings included the word Love and Marie closed the devo- tionals with prayer. After the business meeting a social hour with a cup of tea and cherry cheesecake was the Happy part of the meeting. Our 1993 pro- grams were handed out. These were beautifully prepared by Marie Foster. Everyone is urged to attend the Scugog ChristianUnity Ser- vice next Sunday evening at 7 p-m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Port Perry. The Greenbank choir will be sing- ing. The Covenanting of Church Officers took place on Sunday in our church. "Music for Music" tickets are now available from choir and music committee members. As March 27 promises to be a very enjoyable evening of singing by .Hugh, Roberta, Kenton and Jennifer Baird, and the choir of ONeill Collegiate Chamber choir directed by Russ Baird. The February meeting of the Greenbank Women's Institute will be held at the home of our president Helen McKean on February 17 at 1:30. Come and bring a friend. The Roll Call is "What countries can you trace your family tree from?" Mrs. Muriel Gibson enjoyed the weekend visit of her grand- children Kyle and Jillian Ridge of Bewdley, while their parents, Darlene and Dale were on a snowmobile trip to Dwight. GREENBANK SCHOOL NEWS The boys volleyball team cel- ebrated their DEAA area win with a bowling party at Centen- nial Lanes last Thursday. Houseleague Sports are keeping the students active in the gym each noon hour. The primary students are playing floor hockey and juniors are in- volved in basketball. Outdoors, all students are in- volved in snow fort designing. Students grade 4-6 are ac- tively participating in oral lan- guage presentations. Two groups will represent our school at the Oral Language Festival, Cartwright P.S., March 11. Grade six students, have been creating their own wood- working projects from pine ieces. Each student proceeded to decorate the creation with original de- signs. Many thanks to Mrs. Hooker. We are very proud of" our projects. Mrs. Rudledges' grade two class celebrated a Fairy Tale Unit. The boys and girls dressed up as a favourite char- acter and baked and decorated a delicious treat and partied on Friday, sharing favourite tales. The S.A.C. meets monthly at Greenbank or Epsom school. Please plan on attending to learn more about our activities. Babysitting is provided by - grade six students. ALL VARIETIES "Scugog's Community Newspaper ot Choice ch A safe donation The Honeydale Women's Institute donated $1,173 from funds from the Sleep Family Estate to the Scugog Shores Museum Village for the purchase of a fire-proof safe. The safe will be used to store the Institute's Tweedsmuir Village History and other historical documents.
