Hnatyshyn, to mark the 125th anniversary of Canada's Confederation, and approved by Her Majesty The Queen. Mr. Stevenson said they are being presented to a broad range of Canadians, from all walks of life, in recognition of their distinguished personal achievements on behalf of their fellow citizens, and for Canada. The presentation ceremony will be at Northview Communi- ty Centre, 150 Beatrice Street East, Oshawa, on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Mayors of the lo- cal municipalities have been in- vited to attend. Although he and Mr. Emmer- son were able to come to the aid of the swimmers this time, he wants to avoid future problems by establishing a fund for youth sporting events. He encourages people interested in helping youth financially to come for- ward and make a similar pledge. "There's so much for the youth, let's not take it away from them," he says. "What you give to the community, you get back." When told of the contribution, Mayor Hall said he was pleased that "two conscientious gentle- men" were gettinginvolved. "I think it's great that two people are interested in doing it," he said. PETER HVIDSTEN / PORT PERRY STAR Four people were taken to Community Memorial Hospital with various injuries following an accident involving a car and an ambulance in Manchester on Sunday at 11 a.m. According to Ontario Provincial Police, the car was westbound on Highway 7A and was slowing to make a left turn onto Rose Street when It turned into the path of an ambulance also travelling west- bound In the eastbound lane with its emergency lights.
