"A Family Tradition for 127 Years" LeHers to the editor Museum thanks Star To the Editor: On behalf of the Scugog Shores Historical Museum Vil- lage, I would like to extend our thanks to you and your staff for creating, "Loonies for the Mu- seum," fundraising campaign. With the Port Perry Star's matching contribution, we re- ceived an overwhelming $910! This money will be placed in our new Building Restoration Fund. This fund was estab- lished to raise interest in the restoration of two buildings in | our village. The historical -. Greenbank House furnished in || the period of 1890 and the Head Memorial United Church built in 1860 will require at least $60,000 to restore the exteriors alone. We appreciate everyone who contributed to this campaign and we sincerely thank the Port Perry Star who has always been there to encourage the preser- vation of our township's history. You and your staff have consis- tently encouraged and support- ed us when we were promoting the village. Fundraising campaigns are always difficult to encourage, economic times. Over the years our community has always found a way to support worthy causes. Whenever we have needed help, people have pitched in to get the job done and so far, this year is no excep- tion: We invite everyone to con- tinue supporting the museum and to help with this important project.
