On Monday, March 14, Port Perry held their Atom house league tournament with all four Port Perry teams participating. Port Perry Whitby Auto Wreckers played Oshawa Dur- ham Dodge losing 3-2. Scoring for Port was Jamie Page an Jon Sanders with two assists going to Ryan Fraser. The second game saw two of Port's teams faced off with Whitby Auto Wreckers playing the Lions Clubs. Whitby came out on top of this one by the score of 4-2. Ryan Fraser had two goals, two assists; Jamie Page had three assists and Russ Brown had two goals. Lions Club's Matt Cracknell had one goal; Ian Bonsar had one goal; Ashley Murphy had one assist and Ryan Kehoe had one assist. The third game two Port teams played for the consola- tion - Lake Scugog and Whitby Auto Wreckers. Winning the game in double overtime was Lake Scugog by the score of 4-3. Scoring for Whitby was Ryan Fraser, Reid McTaggart and Jon Sanders. A special thank you to all the parents for the interest they have shown in the team and their willingness to help when- ever needed, it makes being a coach much easier. Thank you, Ken Fraser, Neil McLaughlin, and Gord Bird Lumbermen Scugog Lumber won the con- solation finals in the Port Perry - Atom House League Tourna- ment March 15. Scugog lost 3-1 | in game two against Orono. Joel Phoenix notched the single goal in a close match. Game two had the lumbermen defeat Lauren- tian Bank 2-0. Chris Monsma was outstanding in goal for Scu- gog. Joel Phoenix again scored both goals. Game three was an exciting match with Scugog pre- vailing over Whitby Auto Wreckers 4-3 in double over- time. John Bacon and Joel Phoenix had singles for the Lumbermen. Tim Wray had a pair, including the overtime winner. Scoring for Whitby were Ryan Fraser, Reid McTaggart and Jon Sand- ers. Cary on: of Whitby and Chris Monsma of Scugog were both terrific in goal. All the players on both teams gave great effort in a game well played. On March 20 Scugog defeated the Lions 5-0 in game 2 of the playoffs. Chris Monsma earned his 3rd shutout in four games with some big stops. Joel Phoe- nix had two goals and two as- sists for the lumbermen. John Bacon had two markers. Tim Wray chipped in a single goal and Jericho Baron had an as- sist. Jordan McKay, back after a long illness and Steve Schewa- ga played strong games for Scu- gog. There are two new and exciting programs starting this year. The first is the field la- crosse program in conjunction with the Oshawa Blue Knights . for Bantam and PeeWee age oups. Our second program 18 or boys and girls in the 16 - 19 years age group, where we have renamed our houseleague to the Durham Junior Lacrosse league.
