The three-day Country Music Ex- travaganza held in Lindsay last summer was successful as an event, but due to the very high caliber of entertainers, and the cost of bringing them here, at- tendance did not see the C.C.M.R. make a profit. Rain, which kept many away, think- ing that perhaps the shows would be cancelled, or fearing they would have to be outdoors in such weather kept some away. Of course this was not the case, and the shows went on as scheduled as all activities were moved indoors. Never the less, these two or- ganizations were very helpful to the event, working with camp- ers and at the gate, and the C.C.M.R. Committee were de- termined to make them aware that their help was appreciated. A fundraiser was held to raise on your 5 o™ WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CONGRATULATIONS © Jack & the money for these donations and the C.CM.R. Committee was pleased to present cheques to Charles Holman, President of Crime Stoppers, and Tom Robertson, President of Chil- dren's Last Wish Foundation, at the Lindsay Fairgrounds of- fice. Cheques were presented by C.C.M.R. President, Lorne Ha- chey of Blackstock. Correction Some incorrect information appeared on page 2 of the March 16 issue of the Port Perry Star. The article stated that Vera Svana was treated and released from Community Memorial Hospital. In fact, Mrs. Svana was not released until the fol- lowing day. It was also incorrectly report- ed that her age was 64. Her ac- tual ageis 61. The Port Perry Star regrets any inconvenience. Helen Holtby Forder-Parks Insurance Brokers Inc.
