We recall the sad occasions and the happy times. I can never re- member a Good Friday when we didn't have some rain. This year was a happy time for many with church, family and friend re- unions. Personally I enjoyed all three. I treated myself to tele- phone re-unions with a group of three from Toronto, Orangeville and Shelbourne who had spent a memorable year together while attending school together in Toronto 66 years ago, and continued the friendship in spite of many experiences. In a former Port Perry paper you will have noted a memo about videos recently shown but poorly attended, perhaps because of other attractions or lack of knowledge. Accordingly you are being given information about a specially prepared one of interest to everyone in this modern time. It is free at the Port Perry High School April 22 at 7:30 p.m. It is of modern day living for everyone and called "Revolution Down on the Farm" but is gaining interest with gar- deners and consumers in present day living. The meeting may last 30 minutes or more, according to the interest and questions. One well known speaker will be David Suzuki of T.V. fame. Other speakers will be Dave Kea of Beaverton, a def- inite organic farmer and Al Val- laincourt. This also involves farmers markets and the consu- mers. Several local people have already attended lectures and are practising in their own local gardens. So you see this is of in- terest to all of us, so please try to attend for your own benefit and appreciation to those who are trying to increase our knowl- edge and improvements and ne- cessity. This coming Saturday is the next date to remember when all cars will be heading to the cen- tre of the Island to the church and the hall to make contacts April 17 with the two U.C.W.s. First at the church 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for an excellent lunch- eon. $5 for adults, $2.50 for chil- dren, and free for pre-schoolers. Following your luncheon you will find free admission over at the municipal hall from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Here you will be well entertained in seeing craft dem- onstrations and lots of crafts for gale. You will rush to the bake table for a variety of goodies. When tired you may rest with friends for tea and snacks at lit- tle tables. There is also a corner for fun and tea cup reading by the best readers available. So you cannot afford to miss this day. Now that the weather has re- sumed good habits, we may all be lucky. See you on Saturday, you know where. We are sorry to hear that Margaret Cornish has not felt too well since her holiday trip. We trust she will soon improve.
