Vin Walker was elected to the executive of the Ontario 'Amatuer Softball Association. The Novice All-Stars put up a good fight but lost in the fifth and deciding match of their series with Oak Ridges. Luke's Merchants defeated Lake Scugog Lumber 3-0 to win the Novice House League championships. Barry Heard, Phil Cochrane and Kevin Hadley scored for the winning team. In the Peewee House League final Club Annrene defeated the Lions Club 3-1. Boneshanker and Huffman scored for Ann- rene and McKean for the Lions Club. 20 YEARS AGO WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18, 1973 The Beare Motors Bantams 'defeated Dresden 7-1 to win the - All-Ontario Championships. Goal scorers in the match were Mark Jobb with three and singles by Sean Tayler, Dave Hor- ton, Phil Cochrane and Larry Page. The Grieve Gulf Juveniles tied up their All-Ontario series with Lambeth with a 4-2 victory. Rick Campbell had two goals and Dale Bronson and Dave Jackson had one each. - The public school-bowling champions were the team of Kel- li Thompson, Donna' Page, Joy Webb, Mike Bond and Ralph Shaw. 15 YEARS AGO : 'WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19,1978 | Star Wars on Ice was the theme of the Port Perry Ice Skating Carnival. The 1977-78 girls high school curling season ended on a high note with the rink winning the Banana Belt Bonspiel with four straight victories.
