John and Betty Cincurak re- cently returned from their fifth Work/Play Tour with The Be- quia Mission in The West In- dies. Their flight via Barbados, took them to St. Vincent where they spent the first 10 days with 10 other volunteers from Onta- rio, painting seven classrooms and also prepared another room for a library, This work was done at Bishop's College, King- stown. Bishops is a secondar school connected to the Angli- can church. After a vacation time on the lovely island of Bequia. The group flew to Grenada in two, 10-passenger planes. All the way down to Grevada, (35 min. flight), they admired the won- derful blue seas and the many islands seemed so close! The major work was done in the rural areas around St. George's at three different sites - St. Paul's Preprimary School, St. Peter's Church and St. Luke's School and Chapel. The group travelled 3/4 hr. each day to the sites through the country roads when they saw nutmeg and cocoa groves and the wide variety of lovely plants, trees and flowers growing. The work consisted of repairing floors, pews and painting walls and at St. Paul's windows were re- placed. St. Luke's School and Chapel were wired for electrici- ty. Everywhere the local parents and students as well as parish- ioners helped. They supplied lunch and refreshments each day. It was a great adventure. John and Betty were fortu- nate enough to stay on for a month in Grenada and had time to meet more people and enjoy the wonderful breezes and the rgeous beaches.
