Answering for the Blue Bombers were Craig Cannon with two and Ben Russell, Mike Koury and Darryl Dalton with singles. The second Intermediate game of the evening 'saw the Red Wings take on the Golden Rods. The Golden Rods came out on top in this match with a score of 6-3. The Langford brothers dominated for the Golden Rods with Chris scoring five of the goals and Greg adding No. six. The coaches meetings will be held on May 4 at the Port Perry High School (Room 204) at 6:45 p.m. for the "Under 6s and Under 7s" and at 7:30 p.m. for the "Under 9s and Under 11s." All coaches and as- sistant coaches are asked to at- tend. In lieu of "skills testing" this year, pickup exhibition games are tentatively sched- uled for May 11 (for the Under 6s and Under 9s) and May 12 (for the Under 7s and Under 118). Hopefully the teams will be more evenly matched when the children are assessed on their play in real game situa- tians. The soccer club is looking for- ward to another successful sea- son this year, having had good turnouts for registration. In ad- dition, the club is pleased to have three all-girl teams this year in the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 age groups. Regu- lar season play will be getting Local swimmers fare well at meet Port Perry and area swim- mers did well in the annual Kentucky Fried Chicken Invita- tional Swim Meet Sunday at Uxpool. Port Perry winners include Mary Fowler - 3 silvers in 200 Medley; 100 free and 100 fly; Amanda Wakeford - 1 silver - 100 breast; 2 bronze - 100 free and 100 back and a 6th in 200 medley; Sara Hunter - 2 5ths in 100 free and 100 back; Adam Peacock - Bronze in 50 back and a sixth in 50 free, and Lisa Lesz- kowicz a 5th in 50 breast. Scugog Shuffleboard Club to begin season The Scugog Shuffleboard Club is about to embark on its second season. The club, which attracted 109 members in 1992, will begin its new season on Tuesday, May 4. Club president Hugh Ormis- ton says he hopes to see familiar faces from last year, as well as new members, join the club. The club will meet at Scugog Arena Tuesday evenings from 7-10 p. -and.
