Ms. Gorr says there is a cer- tain satisfaction in working with the athletes and seeing them progress in the program. Ms. Gorr says the programs and activities serve as a support group for the athletes. They be- come involved and socialize with other athletes. "It's a chance for them to get into the community and social- 1ze," says Mr. Thomson. Athletes are also being sought. The program is open to residents of the area, aged eight or older who are developmental- ly challenged. : "A lot of people don't even know this is going on," Mr. Thomson says. According to Durham Region- al Police, Sergeant Les Neville from 26 Division, was investi- gating a report of a suspicious vehicle in Cannington at ap- proximately 8:45 a.m., when it sped off. It was later learned that its occupants had been involved in an armed robbery in the village where a man was assaulted and tied up.
