Sheppard read the banns of marriage for Mark Sturman and Nancy Pleasance who are being married on July 31. Next Sunday is the Seagrave Sunday School anniversary ser- vice at 11 a.m. when Rev. Mi- chelle Hofman will be the guest speaker. The Seagrave ladies are asked to bring sandwiches or squares for the social hour fol- lowing. There is a work bee at the church this Wednesday, May 26 at 9 a.m. to work on the grounds of the church and in- side the church. The sacrament of Holy Com- munion will be celebrated next Sunday at 11:15 a.m. On Sun- day, June 6 we welcome the Rev. James Gilchrist to Burns pulpit. Looking ahead to June 19 and 20, plans are underway for a big weékend at the church. On Sat- urday, June 19 beginning at 10 a.m. an auction and bake sale will be underway. This Wednesday evening, sounds like an interesting meet- ing at Brooklin Horticultural Society when there will be a [ panel of three gentlemen speak- Ing on growing vegetables. Don Linton operates a "pick-your- own" vegetable farm east of Raglan. Among other things, he plants about 100 pounds of beans. Jack Woodward lives west of Brooklin. His garden in- cludes just about every vegeta- ble, plus berries and fruit trees. Terry Dyer lives in Raglan and grows some very large vegeta- bles. I'm sure these gentlemen will have some very knowledge- able advice to share with us on growing top quality vegetables. Also, this is the first flower show for the season, featuring tulips, lilacs, potted plants and early vegetables, with a total of 32 classes. | haven't heard how the auction went last week.
