In the Port Perry seventh, Ryan McQuade reached first on four balls, then Mark Heffern hit a double to put Ryan into scoring position. Chris Mon- sma came to bat and laid down a bunt between pitch and first base allowing Ryan to score the winning run. Heads up base running throughout the entire game certainly helped give Port the edge. Mark Richardson had the de- fensive play of the game with a double play at first base. Aaron Lycett was top batter with a double and-two singles in three trips to the plate. Chris Jones pitched the en- tire game, striking out nine bat- ters and allowing only five hits. He also helped out offensively with a triple and a single. Next home game is Thursday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the south diamond against Pickering. Mite action Greenbank Bakery and Dur- ham Pharmacy played a close game on Monday, May 24. Hitting for Greenbank, Rob- ert Potier, Brandon Davis and Craig Kehoe were all three for three at bat. Robert scored two runs for Greenbank with Bran- don and Craig scoring one each. Meghan Rutledge didn't let the boys do all the work - she had two hits and also touched home for another run. Mike Redman's hitting com- bined with speed on the bases brought in a run for Durham Pharmacy. Reid Harris, on third base, stopped a Green- bank rally by catching ground balls to make two outs in a row. The score was kept close due to Durham's strong defense from all players, including Andrew Leggatt. A good game was played by both teams with the win going to Greenbank Bakery 7 - Dur- ham Pharmacy b. OOOO Oooo ocooo COO0O--=---=0 OOOO CO ---+0O Cummings Back.
