Oakville. Ontario 16) 5Y4 "I have no regrets about being part of the program," Misty told the Star. From Grades 1-3, all subjects were taught in French. English was not introduced until Grade 4. The students stayed together as a class until high school. Al- though they continued to have French class together, they were apart for the first tim their other classes. Disa says the earlier years built strong bonds between the students. She remembers their Grade 7-8 years when they ate their lunch in the gymnasium instead of the classroom. "Our class would sit together in a big circle. Just our class, no- body else," she recalls. Over the years, the class too several trips to Quebec and some of the students travelled to France. Misty and Disa plan on re- turning to Port Perry High School next year for their OAC classes. Both are undecided about their post secondary edu- cation. "I don't think I'll take lan- guages," Misty said. "But I'm go- ing to keep up with my French. It will open doors for me."
