Jerry, Joan and Jennifer Asling of Hanover attended a wedding in Uxbridge then went to visit Don and Stella Asling for the remainder of the week- end. They were joined on Sunday by Faye and Keith Ashton and decided to go to Haugen's for lunch where they met Julia and Clay Dempsey. They met many other friends'so had a very hap- py Father's Day for Don, Keith and Jerry. Our school is being visited by chicken pox at present. Mr. Navin Johnson, also Wendy and David Hall and two daughters of Stouffville were re- cent visitors at the Arthur Pow- ell home. Debbie Powell celebrated her birthday. They joined Eleanor's parents and their family in Mount Albert on Thursday to celebrate Father's Day and Debbie's birthday. Alan Ashton, Joyce and Brad- ley of Oakwood called on Ruth Ashton on Thursday. Grandson Paul and a friend called on Wednesday. Several from the area attend- ed the 25th wedding anniver- sary supper for Ralph and Dianne Nottingham of Bethes- da. The dinner was held at Sun- derland. Birthday greetings to their son Jeffrey (19). Faye Gourlie is home from a brief visit to Port Perry Hospi- tal. We all hope you are soon feeling fine again. Epsom fathers and sons had a rousing game of "road hockey" on Sunday on Palace Street when Kevin, Levon, Katlin, Mervin and new friend Mike and Ryan had a wonderful time. Tuesday, June 22 is the time for the Volunteers Tea at Ep- som School. There will be a draw for the prizes for Bike Ro- deo. The children all enjoyed it so much. Shepherd's sermon "The Unclear Family" told us just how the families of today are just the same as they were in Isaac's time. On Sunday, June 27, the Out- door Service will be held at Greenbank United Church at 11 a.m. The Youth Group is re- sponsible for the service. Fol- lowing the service, there will be a potluck lunch and games. Please remember to bring some- thing for the lunch table. Don't forget your lawn chairs and eat- ing utensils. Congratulations to the stu- dents of Betty McGee and Linda Hunter for their excellent per- formance at the recital on June 9. On Saturday evening, Mrs. Jean Butler, Don and Helen McKean attended the 175th an- niversary celebration at St. An- drews Presbyterian Church, Scarborough. Jean and Don at- tended sunday school there, as children. After a special pot luck supper, we were enter- tained at a special evening pro- gram. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hunt- er attended the special Sunday church service, then had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Forsyth. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ianson, who later in July will celebrate their 60th wedding anniver- sary, were entertained at an early get together by their fami- ly on Saturday. Guests attend- ing were from Vancouver, North Bay, Ottawa, Montreal, Norwood, Hastings, Owen Sound, Hepworth and Toronto. The families also surprised Mr. and Mrs. Keith Heron and Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilkinson on the occasion of their 35th anni- - versaries. After a delicious meal served by the Fideles Unit UCW at the hall, the families gathered at the home of Murray and Shirley Lee for games and a social time. On Monday, the representa- tives of Ontario South District of the Women's Institute met at the McKean's home to make plans for the W.I. Booth in Port Perry Fair on Labor Day week- end.
