Congratulations to Bill and Paula Lishman who celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary with a party at their home on Saturday evening. Many friends, relatives and neighbors enjoyed the gathering to wish Bill and Paula well on this spe- cial occasion. Shirley and Roy Turner, Er- nie and Connie Swain returned home after a very enjoyable trip to Alaska and Yukon. They flew to Edmonton and took a tour bus through the mountains. When the bus arrived at the coast, the bus and the passen- gers borded a ferry which took a scenic route up the Pacific Coast. The bus then criss- crossed across Alaska and Yu- kon. They enjoyed seeing the glaciers and much wild life. All in all it was really a trip to re- member. A large crowd attended the annual Strawberry Supper at the Blackstock United Church on Sunday evening. A big hail storm struck on Sunday evening. There hasn't been such large hail in this area for many years. At the United Church on Sun- day morning music was provid- ed by Ross Tysick and James Lowery accompanied by Doreen Lowery when they played "What A Friend We Have In Je- sus," "Amazing Grace," and "Whispering Hope," on their vi- olins. An original church window installed in the Narthex in lov- ing memory of Percy and Elva Van Camp given by their family and friends was dedicated. Next Sunday combined ser- vices for Blackstock and Nestle- ton will be held at the home of Richard and Janice MacKenzie at 10:30 p.m. There were 11 tables at the weekly card party with the fol- lowing winners: Florence Larm- er, Doreen Ferguson, Elwood Manns, Nerta Masters, Carl at public school 'Blackstock News | FARA NWSE III INL, Ferguson, Meta Swain and Alma Manns. Lucky draws were won by Ross McRoberts, Ruby Smith, Carl Gimblett, Richard Potter and Roy Werry. There were a large number of folk from this area who attend- ed the annual decoration ser- vice at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert on Sunday after- noon. On Saturday afternoon the Elva Toms Lodge at Camp Ada- mac the Girl Guide Camp on Purple Hill, was officially dedi- cated. Mrs. Tom's three daugh- ters, Eileen McLaughlin, Helen Dorrell and Wilma Van Camp all took in the opening. A recep- tion took part after the opening. Graduation ceremonies for Grade 8 students at Cartwright Central Public were held at the school on Friday evening. M.C. for the evening was Mandi Crowder. Greetings were brought from Trustee Joyce Kelly, Trustee Bobbie Drew and Principal Don Real.
