John Anthony Tanti led the way with five goals, Christopher Boom- hour scored his first hat trick of the season, Jeff Rankin scored twice, and Shawn Murray notched one as well. Alisha Timmers made several out- standing saves for the Lions, and Mack Gibson put in a very good effort. Brent Wagg and Ce- line Batterink each scored two goals. Manvers Tikes were victori- ous against Brian's Towing, 3-1. Darryl Short collected two points, and Travis McCabe scored once. The coaching staff was pleased with an outstand- ing effort by all players. Justin Cottrell got the lone marker for Brian's. Caylie Giimore contin- ues to play a very strong game in both offensive and defensive position, and Maggie Robins made some super kicks in an at- tempt to close the scoring gap. Twice Told Tales and Port Perry Printing played to a 2-2 draw in their exciting match. Lakelan Gould scored the first goal for Twice Told Tales and Kyle Geer added the second. Matthew Hertzberg worked hard and got a good shot on goal. Robert Mark made some good rushes in the first half, and put in a solid effort as goal- fender in the second. Aaron Bray opened the scoring for the printers and Jonathan Taylor tied the game up. Leo Taillon made some excellent long kicks, and Tara Hodgins and Wesley Cook showed great determina- tion. Under Nine's Waterfront Cafe just edged out Subby's Submarine in a close game that could have gone either way, 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Trevor Chandler. Peter Konstantinopolous just missed on a couple of long kicks. David deKoning played aggres- sively despite his small stature. Subby's got super offense from Nelson Langmaid, Pat Lewis, and Brent Meeking. Boston Kowalczyk played really well in net to hold Waterfront to just one goal. Haugen's Heroes bested Tim's Renovations, 4-2. Greg Jeffries notched two goals, while Alex Nicoloau and Kevin Robins each scored one. Kevin Hansen and Christopher Spence provided terrific goal- tending. Hailey Wilson also contributed by making a brave facial stop. Kyle Marlow got both points for Tim's. Matthew Coxon played with heart at his forward position, as did David Miller on defense, and Daniel Bois in midfield. Mr. Sub and Reach Park Mo- tors played to an exciting 3-3 tie. Goals for Reach Park were by Alex McKay, Rebecca Aked and Julie Domik, with a good effort by Meghan Smith and Kevin Gloster. Shawn Demaio picked up two points for Mr. Sub, and Zach Pither scored once. Reach Park Motors nearly scored in the final minutes of the game, but Timothy Cruick- shank came up big with a great save to shut them down. Second Hand. for Kids also tied their game against Man- vers, 2-2. Both of Manvers goals were from Brandon Stine. Goal scorers for Second Hand for Kids were Spencer Churchill and Marta VanCamp. Jamie Geer and Taylor Ramsay played well in net and Liam McKeracher and Derek Young had a solid game on defense. Darlene Colton Photography continued to dominate their competition, and this 'week Raglan Welding fell behind 6-1. Matthew Kaminga scored a hat trick (again!), James Colton scored one, as did Justin Shinn. Steven Karalash was pleased to score his first goal of the sea- son, and Howie Gordon played well in net. Gabriel Benschop was busy in net for the Welders, and made some great stops. Grace Michel and Evan Powell played well defensively. Brook MacKenzie played a terrific game, getting some good scor- ing opportunities and showing strong offensive play. John Dut- ka also looked good on offence. Underll's Emmerson Insurance man- aged to hold VanCamp Con- tracting to only three goals, but still lost 3-1. Dean VanCamp, David Halward and Trevor Robins each scored for the con- tractors. Gerrard Timmers picked up the lone marker for Emmerson. Matthew Smart was amazing in net for Emmer- son, and Glenn Thompson showed excellent positional play. Noel Young also played a strong game on both offence and defense. Legal Eagles were just edged out in their game against Wil- lowtree Farms, with the final score being 2-1. Wesley Lang- maid collected a point, as did Gordon Kilner. Justin Moffat got the lone marker for the Ea- gles. Legal Eagles picked up their first win of the season against Manvers, 6-3. Trevor Lance played a fantastic game, get- ting a hat trick, Justin Moffat scored twice, and Jason How- arth evened the scoring with one. Manvers team put in a great effort, with Jamie Came- ron scoring their first goal, fol- lowed by Bryan Jarret, assisted by Jamie Cameron. Steven Stiner notched one as well. Under13 Trader Sams was busy play- ing two games last week. Against Manvers, they lost by one, but managed to oust the Scugog Citizen team, 3-1. Rob Breeden scored twice and Colin Mark kicked in one. Rue Brown scored the lone marker for the Citizen. Perfect Heating wins by Judy MacSween On Tuesday, June 22, Port Perry Auto Glass met with Per- fect Heating in Greenbank. Fans witnessed a good game layed by both teams. Perfect Heating won 12-7. The Heating team had Travis Howell make some fantastic de- fensive plays. Mike Phoenix had a good night offensively with two home runs and a triple, Jason Cooper made some great catches. Matt Sturgess went four for four at the plate and Sean Fletcher and Travis MacSween both went three for three. All in all, the whole Per- fect team played perfect. Auto Glass coach Gord Bird noted that his team really looked sharp with their crisp de- fensive plays and their improv- ing offense. Re/Max over Seagrave by 18-6 score Re/Max 18 - Seagrave 6 Re/Max travelled to Seagrave on Wednesday, June 23 and was successful outscoring the home team 18-6 while out hit- ting them 26 to 14. In the first inning, Dianne and Debbie M. crossed the plate but the team fell behind by one as Seagrave scored three times. Both teams were held scoreless until the fourth inning when Re/Max sent 10 batters to the plate scoring five runs. In the bottom of the inning Seagrave answered quickly with three more making the score 7-6 for Re/Max. These were the last runs scored by Seagrave. Re/Max rounded out the scor- ing seven more in the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the eighth. Final score 18-6 for Re/ Max. In the end the scoresheet read: Joan two hits, two walks, Dianne two hits, three walks, Nancy two hits, one walk, Deb- bie M. two hits, Donna four hits, Jennifer three hits, one walk, Debbie T. one hit, two walks, Gerda one hit, one walk, Deanne one hit, Cheryl three hits, Colleen one hit, one walk, Marg three hits and Joyce one hit. This week in the under six group under sunny skies the Big V team managed to out- score the IGA team by a score of 2-1 in an exciting match. Mark Forderer led the way with both goals for Big V with an excellent defensive game by Jonathan Hamelick. The IGA team had good output from Amy Rensink, Cane Plinski and Luke Doupe- Smith. The Laurentian Bank and J&D Carpentry teams played a strong game on field three with the Laurentian Bank team com- ing out on top by 3-1. For Lau- rentian Bank Michael Wilson netted two and Scott Jorgenson the other. Carley Churchill played a good game with lots of enthusiasm and Spencer Mar- low was good in net. For J&D Danielle Bourgeois scored the lone goal. All the players played really well for their coaches but Dustin exhib- ited some good forechecking skills and Zachary Will played a good game. Local runners to compete at the All-Ontario finals On Saturday, June 26, two lo- cal boys, Ross Gower of Epsom P.S. and Dean VanCamp of R.H.Cornish P.S. travelled to Burlington as members of the Oshawa XL Track Club to take part in an invitational track meet which included various clubs from around central/ southern Ontario. The day was long and hot but both boys rep- resented their club proudly by participating in several events and walking away with many of the coveted medals. Results which included the two boys were as follows: Dean placed second, winning a silver medal in the tyke boys 100 me- tre with a time of 13.85 sec., then went on to place firstin the 200 metre. However, the compe- tition was very tough and the timed sections of this event in- dicate that Dean won with only .02 sec. over the second place runner and only .04 sec. over the third. - 'In the long jump event, Dean earned a fifth place with a dis- tance of 3.67 m while Ross Gow- er earned a bronze, placing third with 3.72 m against some very serious jumpers! Though he came untrained to partici- pate in the tyke boys high jump, Ross entered this event and walked away with another bronze medal for his 115 cm Jump! In addition, both boys participated in a four-member, 1600 m medley relay and won a gold, placing first by a consider- able margin over the second place team! Next weekend, the boys look forward to taking part in the all-Ontario track meet which will be held at the Civic Fields in Oshawa. Best of luck, boys!
