On October 28, 1944, E married Harold Timms and for many years they lived on the 4th Concession of Pickering un- til moving to Blackstock. Some of Etta's hobbies includ- ed fishing, dancing, knitting and flowers. Etta was a surrogate mother and grandmother to many niec- es and nephews and was "Aunt" to many others. Although she had no children of her own, eve- ry school function was blessed either by her presence or gener- ous donations. Her heart of gold Man in hospital after explosion A Blackstock man is in a To- ronto hospital following an ex- plosion last week. | According to Durham Region- al Police, the 38-year-old man was attempting to light the pilot on a propane water heater when -"the explosion occurred. The man was rushed to Oshawa General Hospital and then transported to the Welles- ley Hospital Burn Unit with ex- tensive burns to his body. The accident is under investi- gation by the Fire Marshal's Of- ce.
