"She wore her Brownie wings when she went into 8 and she took Girl Guide coo with her." Ms. Bondar also added a little fuel to the fire when the cartoon- ist from the Guelph Mercury newspaper used the camp's graphicin one of his cartoons. The graphic features a num- ber of tents around the world with. a bridge joining the camp sites. The cartoonist drew a con- versation bubble beside one of the tents with the following message inside: "Ohno, I think' broke a nail." The comment did ot sit well' with Ms. Bondar, an honorary. camp director at Guelph '33. In aletter to the ih itor of the Guelph Mercury, Ms. Bondar lambasted the cartoonist, say- ing "If the portrayal of Girl Guides in your somewhat out- dated cartoon...is what you be- lieve to be the reality, then you should join us at Guelph '93." The cartoonist was invited to drop by the camp for a training session. "Just a final thought before you come for your training ses- sion," Ms. Bondar continued. "The only nails we break in camprare made from steel. Now you're getting the picture." rol, Franks of Colll bi - tude, brought a selection gther hats tothe show, Whey came trom all over.
