(Goethe) Qu®® heartiest congratula- tions to the folks of Caesarea for an outstanding 61st Regatta - now over - and the purpose. re- mains the same - to promote sports, entertainment and com- munity spirit. A fun time for all members of the family! We sa- lute President Albert Putsey and the enthused executive for an excellent Civic Holiday weekend. I believe the Regatta i8 the oldest in Ontario, if not in Canada! Our good friend, Christina Henderson has returned home to Edinburgh, Scotland, after some weeks in Canada with daughter Chris and Cliff Davis, Scott and Carle of Hyde House Scugog Point Road, Nestleton, Ontario. Christina was invited out by many relatives and friends while in Canada...a truly jnter- esting person...very talented in fashioning various crafts, and a popular guest at any time! We shall miss her, but she hopes to be back for Christmas, and trust we'll see her then. by Albert Putsey | for Mabel Cawkar The people of the Regatta As- soc. are very busy looking over the bills and seeing everyone is paid. Also making notes of the errors in an effort to make next year's Regatta perfect. We were very glad to see one of the Roger Gould family win the garden set. What a splendid house warming gift to Roger's new home. Our most important business now is to find out when we are going to get the playground equipment. Everyone in the vil- lage has participated in this ef- fort. Marilyn Pearce is return- ing from holidays Aug. 8 so maybe things will begin to hap- pen. Aug. 19 is hot dog day, at noon, when family members are invited to join in. Excite- ment and enthusiasm has been building up all summer as this becomes more successful each year. Then the next week, Sunday, Aug. 22, we look forward to the chicken barbecue. Call Bonnie Gerrow ~agon for your reserve tickets, As the faithful choir at Scu- gog Island United has been hav- "ing a summer rest, there is an .effort to have a special musican number each Sunday for the pleasure of. But we -bers. RR learned he is now teaching Eng- lish in South Korea. As the Expo opened in South Korea on Saturday with 110 countries present for three months, when science will be a specialty, we trust David will meet with many Canadians. If any of you travel fo South Korea, we would love to hear of your experiences. As was mentioned before, special music has been planned for every Sunday at the Island United Church during. August. .
