Judging takes place Friday night and all exhibitor items are on display for the duration of the three day fair. It is highly recommended that exhibitors get their entry form to the secretary before Sept. 3. Each item must have an entry tag completed by office staff. By entering early, this will avoid having to wait for your entry tags to be completed. There is exciting entertain- ment scheduled for the fair. Sat- .urday is Kids Day, all children are admitted free. We will have ~ face painting, pony rides, Betty and Barney Bear will be per- forming three shows, and clog- gers. The midway will be run- ning, children's games are scheduled, sheep shearing dem- onstrations. There will be con- tinuous entertainment com- . mencing at 11 a.m. Saturday. OBITUARY Eugene Dearborn of Green- bank passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12 at the Commu- nity Nursing Home in Port Perry. Born in East Whitby Town- ship on May 31, 1904, Eugene was the son of Hiram and Pearl Dearborn. He was educated at Thornton Road Public School. On April 3, 1929, Eugene maptiad Annie Mildred Wilson of Raglan. They farmed at Pros- pect from 1930 to 1971. Toge- they they raised five children; Fred of Oshawa, Doris Bacon of Uxbridge, Ray of Belleville, Harvey of Manilla and Marga- ret Desousa of Oshawa. Eugene is also survived by 16 grandchil- dren and 11 great grandchil- "dren. He was predeceased by ~~ his sisters; Lilhan Terwillegar - and Margaret Bishop. At the time of his death, Mr. Dearborn was a member of the Greenbank United Church. Funeral services were held There will also be cattle shows, horse shows and the Homecraft Buildings will be open for the public tosee the exhibits. 'Sunday is another exciting day. There will be horse racing, horse shows, continuous enter- tainment, sheep shearing, cat- tle shows, midway and much much more. Monday will feature Cindy Cook (from Polka Dot Door) in- Teo ing her lovable friends Spelling Bee, Owlie and Book- work. There will also be the midway, the ever popular chuckwagon races are return- ing, sheep shearing, continuous entertainment. Tanglefoot, a group from Peterborough will also be appearing on stage. On Labor Day Weekend, rain or shine, come to the fair- grounds and be a part of this outstanding cultural event. There is something for every- one. ELECTRICAL] James Rankin ELECTRIC Blackstock Fair week will be- gin with an evening of music with "His Majesty's Men," at the Blackstock Recreation Cen- tre on this coming Sunday eve- ning, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. "His Majesty's Men" is a men's chor- us from Omemee who have per- formed at many functions in the area including ihe Internation- al Ploughing last fall. Pine Ridge Garden Club Beth Frost was our ost speaker for the month of Au- st. She held.a yoskehop on ower arranging. We complet- ed a vertical design arrange- ment. It was quite an informa- tive and interesting evening. The competition winners were as follows: First - Anita Mazzorolo, second - Betty For- syth, third - Marliese Hassler. The next bus trip is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18. It will be to Toronto (North York) for the Canadian Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Show. The cost into the show is $2.50. Tickets for the bus trip are $10. The bus will leave Nestleton at 10:16 a.m. with a stop in Toronto for lunch before the show.
