GIR bv \ Ste Rotary honor Jim and d Marg Lawrence ; Jim and Marg Lawrence, who returned from their new home jn Parry Sound to attend the Rotary Club's annual Past President's Night, were given a standing ovation Saturday night during the presentation of a gift to the popular couple. The gift was a painting of their home in Port Perry by local artist Karen Richardson. In accepting the gift, Mr. "A cami Tradition ih 127 Years" 2 Lawisnice said "we'll keep you in their hearts forever." There was a lot of excitement in our village on Thursday af- ternoon when Utica Farm Equipment were hosts to our Prime Minister Kim Campbell. Also on hand were M.P. Ross Stevenson and several of our lo- cal dignitaries and a lot of us lo- cal folk. Freeze-out win- ners were Velma Ross and Ir- win Kydd, Dorothy and Del Catherwood were second. Draws were won by Mary Can- non, Grace Hopkins and Clara Whitter. Aylmer Hood won the 50/50 draw. There will be an- other euchre in two weeks, Sept. 24. Church and Sunday School this week will be held in Utica Church starting at 11 a.m. The first choir practice of the fall season will be held this Thursday at the Sobil home and new members are invited to come out. Sunday is also open house at the manse in Goodwood and everyone is invited to come and meet the Burtons. Time is 2 to 4 p.m. In the event of rain, it will be held on Oct. 3.
