According to building permit figures released by the own. ship of Scugog, a total of 32 per- mits at a value of $1,284,172 were issued in August. Although it is not a substan- tial increase over the figures from the previous year, it did continue the upward trend for the year. In August 1992, thirty permits were issued at a value of $1,128,034. It was not the same trend in the industrial and agricultural sector as only nine permits with a value of $488,078 have been issued to date, compared to 16 for the same period last year ata value of $807,000. Additions and alterations in that sector dropped as well as only three permits have been is- sued with a value of $118,040, compared with five permits at a value of $246,000 for the same periodin 1992. The commercial sector has had a strong showing this year with two permits and a value of $700,0001ssued to date.
