Your neighbors and friends at Mari- posa Elementary School hope to see you back soon. This week is the start of Jun- ior Kindergarten for many neighborhood four year olds. They seem so small to be riding big school buses, so please driv- ers, watch out for them waiting for those buses. Seagrave Church News The Sunday School theme was God with Us and the choir sang "Holy, Holy, Holy". Rever- end Shepherd's sermon was "Trusting God". This Wednesday night, Sept. 22, there will be a congregation- al meeting at the church at 8 p.m. Next Sunday the Seagrave Aniversary Service will be held at 11 a.m. This service of praise features familiar old hymns, brand new hymns and new hymns sung from familiar tunes from "Voices United" (the 1995 United Church Hymn- book). The Seagrave ladies are asked to bring sandwiches or cookies for the social hour fol- lowing. There will be no Sunday School. World Wide communion will be held on Sunday, Oct. 3. Since we had a' guest speaker for the evening, the business part of the meeting was held over until later. The roll call was answered by "a food rich in calcium". Motto - "What is osteoporosis?" The President then intro- duced Mrs. Wilson from Port Perry who gave us a very inter- esting talk on osteoporosis - something every woman-should be aware of. It can sometimes be mistaken for arthritis. Your diet can play a most important role. Thank you, Mrs. Wilson. Guests came from Altona, Blackstock, Shirley, Greenbank and Scugog. We held the ticket draw on the quilt. Winner was Sharon Gibson - Scarborough and the second prize of $60 to Donna Kent, Seagrave. Thanks to all our ticket sellers, also all who bought tickets. A social time was spent over lunch of sandwiches, sweets, tea and coffee. You are invited to the next meeting Oct. 20 with a guest speaker from a lawyer's office.
