Surprise party held BETES ee RR RR RR ES BR RRR RRR: Greenbank News By Helen McKean a, REE RSE R J SRS surprise party was held at the Greenbank Hall for Darlene and Brian Gibson's 25th wed- ding anniversary. Many family members and friends attended the party. Beautiful expensive costumes were worn for the ex- citing "mock wedding." Congratulations to Darlene and Brian!! Deirdre and Bill Earle were thrilled by the arrival of their newest grandchild on Sept. 15. Emily Victoria was proudly wel- comed by her parents, Chris and Brenda Earle of Bowman- ville. She is a dear sister for Benjamin, Joseph and Heather. Our best wishes to every mem- ber of Emily's family. The Roll Call for our Women's Institute meeting on Sept. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Muriel Gibson is - "Bring a picture de- pecting farming of the past." Come and enjoy the fashion show. \ A number of W.1. members at- tended a workshop in Nobleton on Monday. This is a hands-on time learning Christmas crafts. Sympathy extended by Vera Brown Church and Sunday School this week will be held in Epsom Church starting at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Heather Burton taking the service. The following week, starting at 10 a.m. in Utica Church, Norman Tucker and Jane Sobil will be having a Jun- ior Choir practice. Friday is euchre night in Uti- ca starting at 8 p.m. at the Com- munity Hall. This past week, Utica lost two of their well known citizens. On Tuesday, my husband William Brown passed away in his sleep at Uxbridge Hospital following a seven month confinement in hospital. On Thursday, Charlie Cottyn gave up his fight with his illness that went back sever- al months of hospitalization. Sympathy to Bertha and Wayne, Gail and Arnold Kerry and their family. On behalf of my family, thanks to everyone for their words of comfort and deeds over the last several months. Former neighbor Chris Reu- sink is in Wellesley Hospital where she underwent hip sur- gery last Friday. I'm pleased to report that she is doing fine and I'm sure that all who knew her when she lived down the road and also ran our local store, would like to wish her a speedy recovery. The Robert Slack family were Saturday supper guests with Lloyd and Alice Ross. Pete and Georgina Sutcliffe and Don and Doris Timms of Whitby visited on Sunday eve- ning with Mr. Harold Timms at Blackstock.
