"A Family Tradition for 127 Years" Nursing Home BY Margaret Cavill On Tuesday, Sept. 15, some residents took advantage of the offer to go for an afternoon drive in the country. It was a most en- Joyable afternoon. They stopped for treats at Whitefeather Farms and also spent some time picking wild flowers. Thursday, Sept. 26 was a very busy day for all. In the af- ternoon, Kathleen Petrie came in to help with crafts, some resi- dents helped to make chocolate cheesecake in preparation for = | the evening supper club, while = & d in the prepara- others hel tion of pickling. ~ In the evening, 22 residents ; enjoyed a meal of Chinese food : & and topped it off with the cheese BE cake made earlierin the day. The week ended Friday with a bingo game in the dining : room, followed by ice cream : § treats for all. On Monday, Sept. 20 in the afternoon, there was a good turnout for bowling with Lionel Blaikie taking the honors for top bowler. Later in the day, preparations began for the up- coming auction. On Tuesday afternoon, a Lemon Social was held. Every- one thoroughly enjoyed the mu- sic of Ivan Barrett, some were even persuaded to get up for a dance. Following this: lemon meringue pie, lemonade, tea and coffee were served. The rest of the week was de- voted to fall cleaning around the activity room and prepara- tions for the auction. The auction proved to be quite successful as far as rais- ing the much needed monies for the residents to carry on with activities from now until Christ- mas.
