Wendy Evans and Brian Meek attended the funeral of Garnet Stiver. Several from the community enjoyed the children's musical "Kids under Construction" at the Uxbridge Baptist Church. There were some very proud grandparents from our commu- nity in attendance. Saturday, Sept. 26 was a very happy day at the Maharaj home. It isn't often the four sons are home at the same time. It was a surprise 30th birthday party for Anand of Kingston, 29th for Vin and 23rd for Anil and a belated anniversary for Raj and Zoe of Sault Ste. Marie. ~. Guest of honor also was Mrs. Maharaj's mother from Trini- . dad. There were several aunts, uncles and cousins and a real celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor, their daughter Margaret Sevier and her daughter Joanne, and Earl's sister Miss Ruth Taylor of Sunderland, attended the christening of John and Ruth Reed's daughter Beverly Reed of Sundridge. Julia Baster of Uxbridge and Kathy Baster of Port Perry were dinner guests on Saturday with their parents Paul and" Shirley. A very beautiful wedding was solemnized in Port Perry Unit- ed Church when Glen Kerry, son of Elva Kerry and the late Walter Kerry, was joined in holy matrimony with Shari Louise Haugen. : Approximately 165 guests at- tended. Sandra Kerry and Paul Kerry sang a beautiful duet. Jennifer Pelow, Tamara Em- pringham and Donna Ireland were bridesmaids, and a dear wee flower girl and a handsome little ring bearer were much ad- mired. There was a supper after the ceremony followed by a dance at the Legion Hall. The happy couple left for a honeymoon but will turn up sooner or later at their new home on Medd Road. Maurice and Marydale, Nor- man and Betty (the Epsom Tap- scotts) attended the Bolt- Orman wedding in Pembroke Petawawa area last weekend. Don and Stella Asling visited Ivan and Lisa Clarke and baby Sarah on Thursday. Jane Sobil was at church on Sunday with our new junior choir. There were 16 members present. We all loved you.
