36- PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, October 13, 1993 2} ESL REN RB "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" Bantams drop game Big V and Emi S1'S'W to Uxbridge rivals On Saturday, Oct. 9, Port Perry Emmerson Bantams met Uxbridge PDM Foods Bantams. The final score was Uxbridge 3 Port Perry 1. The first game of the season for Port Perry Emmerson start- ed slowly. During the first peri- od, both teams worked hard. Uxbridge scored first when Rick Hunter popped a rebound in from William Davis. Early in the second period, Uxbridge scored again-during a goalmouth scramble. This time it was Chris Begg from Rick Hunter. Finally, Dan McKay put Emmerson on the board when he snapped in the re- bound from a hard shot by Paul Shrigley. During the third period, Em- merson continued to gain mo- mentum and had many fine scoring opportunities. Just when it looked as if they would take control of the game, John Henderson of Uxbridge scored on a fine solo effort and put the game out of reach. The Port Perry Emmerson Bantams played very well for their first time together as a team.
