The next game wasn't until Oct. 13, when we faced Trenton. The Country Style Bantams found the twine first, when Tom Chambers beat the Trenton goalie. Mark Brownson picked up the assist. Port Perry also scored the second goal of the game, when Kevin Gray picked up a pass from Scott Heffern, and put the puck in the Trenton cage. The Golden Hawks from Trenton scored next, making the score two to one. Port sent the red lights 'a'flashin' next, when deep in Trenton's end, Tommy Chambers won the draw back to Kevin Hobbs. Hobbsy wasted no time. He drilled the puck past the Tren- ton goalkeeper. Trenton added another goal to make it 3-2. We scored once more before the second period was through. Mike Morden blasted a shot that hit the mesh, with assists going to Jason Logan, and Adam Hunter. Going into the third period, we led 4-2. Tim Fitzpatrick scored with 11:47 left in the third. Assists on this goal went to Scott Heffern and Kevin Gray. Well, the Golden Hawks from Trenton had one more dinger left in them. The fi- nal score was Port Perry 5, Trenton 3. On Oct. 18, the Country Style Bantams hosted the Oshawa Bruins. Mike Morden smoked one home in the first to give Port the lead. Adam Hunter as- sisted. The Bruins scored next with 2:30 left in the second peri- od. Going into the third, Port Perry and Oshawa remained tied at one. Eighteen horses and riders from Canada and the United States participatedin the class. Nicole, who has her own quarterhorse and shows very successfully in the jumping cir- cuit, began training for the Equitation Saddle class about one month prior to the event. "Nicole put in many long hours of hard work and care to Local equestrian takes top spot at the Canadian 'National Exhibition bring Phigure in condition in such a short time," said owner Nancy Karkoulas. She received guidance from trainer Nancy Kavanagh of Port Perry. As a result of this hard work, Nicole also placed 6th in the Morgan Hunter Pleasure Championship on Saturday, Aug. 21. In the first game there was good end to end play with the score ending in a 3-3 tie. Tommy Keeble for the Larocque team and Chris Thompson for Scala were the goaltenders and both were called upon to make some great saves. Scoring for the Larocque team were Brad Monsma from Ben Stephenson and Keith Hancock. Jeff Harrison scored from Jamie Clark and Brad picked up the other assist on this one. Devon Symes rounded out the scoring with Jeff picking up the assist. Adam Brain had a good game making some good passes and doing some great forechecking. Scott Cunning- ham scored two goals, one unas- sisted and the other one on a nice pass from Troy Hazelton. Tyler Wootton picked up the other goal with the assists going to Jared Aldridge and Jeremy Hall. a Todd Mitchell had a good game on defense for the Scala team. . 3 . "In the second game goal tend- ing was the key also as Jon Chambers for the Emiel's team and Ryan Fraser for the Big V team both played very well. Eric Troan and Alex Wordley both picked up a goal and an assist each with Wade Ritchie picking up an assist also. Steve Martin and Greg Ranieri showed good hustle on forward and Nick Os- tafichuk had a good game on de- fense. The lone goal scorer for Emiel's was Jeff Neal on a wicked wrist shot from the slot with the assists going to Reid McTaggart and Paul Brain. Kam Cooper was a standout on forward as he led many end to end rushes while Tim Wray played well digging in the cor- ners. Tom Boyd played well on defense for the Emiel's squad.
