Bryan is the youngest son of Tom and Marg Horton. Best wishes to you Bryan and Tawnie. Weekend guests with Tom and Marg Horton were Audrey and Ben Morris of St. Williams, Lenny and Wendy Horton of Bracebridge and Jean Horton of Toronto. On Sunday morning Cecil and Marie Gibson attended the baptism of Mary Kate Cecilia, daughter of Eleanor and Wayne MacDonald at St. Mark's Unit- ed Church, Whitby. Following church, members of both the Gibson and MacDonald fami- lies gathered at the home of El- eanor and Wayne and son Gar- eth in Whitby in honor of Mary Kate's baptism. A happy family gathering. A group of ladies all born the same year (?) annually enjoy a holiday bash. Those attending this special birthday party on Saturday were Helen (Bowers) Deyell, Ruby (Morrow) Van Camp, Eileen (Toms) McLaugh- lin, Connie (Wheeler) Swain, ~#Norma (Bradley) Clarke, Gla- dys (Gibson) Pounder, Mona (Ferguson) Dunbar, Gwen (Wil- son) Lyons, Jean (Harris) Van Camp was absent. Attending from this area were Abby and Carla McLaughlin, Meghan Kyte, Colin Mann and Stephanie and Casey Shor- tridge. They report an excellent day of activities, song and fel- lowship. On Saturday evening a large crowd of friends and relatives gathered at the Nestleton Hall to hold a surprise Jack and Jill in honor of Valerie Van Camp and Ron Linton. Best wishes Val and Ron. Many from this area enjoyed the Royal Winter Fair which was held the past two weeks. From all reports the Royal was especially successful this year. On Sunday afternoon Gerald - and Joyce Kelly visited Fred. Pawley of Port Hope and ac- companied him to visit his wife Nancy in the Port Hope Nurs- ing Home. Later they were din- ner guests of Fred. On Sunday morning, many local members of the Van Camp family attended church service at St. Stephen's United Church in North Oshawa where a stained glass window was dedi- cated in memory of Stephen Saywell, long time minister of this church. A very special event. There were 11 tables at the weekly card party with the fol- lowing winners - Edna Manns, Richard Manns, James Emer- ton, Carl Ferguson, Gordon Fin- ney, Dorothy Beach and Olive Ormiston. Winners of the draws were Bernice Appleton, Doro- thy Beach, James Emerton, Earla Hill and Norman Rohrer. She was getting us ready for Christmas season and read from "Reaching for Rain- bows" by Ann Weems. Eileen McLaughlin was responsible for the program. She introduced Michelle Balsam who modelled and showed us her "weekend clothing." The Christmas meeting will be at Lois Luke's home on Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. with a pot luck "luncheon.
