"A Family Tradition for 127 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, November 30,1993 - 17 a Ducks Unlimited 9th annual dinner The ninth annual Port Perry Ducks Unlimited Dinner was held Nov. 11 at the Immaculate Conception Hall, Port Perry. The dinner, a sellout, appears by early accounting to have been a very successful event. The net funds raised when add- ed to the proceeds from other projects will be $50,000. The 200 persons in attendance were enthusiastic in their bidding for many auction items and their purchase of raffle tickets. The highlights of the evening were the live and silent auc- tions with over 60 items to bid on. Ron Laces carving of a barn swallow was bought for $1,600. The Poodle Pointer Pup was the second highest item going for $800. Port Perry Committee Chair- man Eric Fletcher in his mes- sage to the attendees was, "In Canada wildlife habitats are disappearing, fortunately, Ducks Unlimited is on the lead- ing edge of research, develop- ment and program delivery with private landowners to pro- mote sustainable development and biodiversity of waterfowl conservation.
