Ryan Petch scored four oals to pace the Canadians. ne goal each by Keenan Geer, Kyle Bowers, Ryan O'Leary and Chad Wansbrough. Scoring for the Leafs were Timothy Cruickshank with three goals and one each by Mark Morrison and Daniel Shore. Boston Kowalczyk made some great saves in goal for the Canadians for their first victo- ry. On Monday, Nov. 15 the Ca- nadians made it two wins in a row by edging by the Leafs by a score of 6-5. Goal scorers for Port were Danny McCarthy and Rick Trotter with two each and singles to Ken Irvine, Paul Heard, Glenn Geer, Glen Sweetman and Ron Short. The Beare Motors Bantams defeated Mark- ham 8-3. Dale Bronson led the way with four goals. Brent Heard added two and singles went to Dave Bourgeois and Cal Cochrane. In Bantam House League action Cartwright defeated Stephens 5-4. For Cartwright Camp- bell and Jackson had two goals and Handy- side a single. The Midgets defeated Uxbridge 4-2 on two goals by Gord Scott and singles by John Scott and Mike Adam. In Novice house league action the Lions Club defeated Keith Real Estate. For the win- ning team it was Mike Real, Paul Van Camp and Kevin Long scoring. For Keith Rodger Gould and Shawn O'Donnald made the score- board. 'Burnett, two, Steve Durham and Greg Staple- 15 YEARS AGO | WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1978 The Port Perry High School Junior boys basketball squad defeated Dunbarton 54-34. Bob Ireland completed several steals to net 17 points. Kevin Harris added 12 points. The Peewee Legionaires clobbered Sunder- land by a 23-0 count. Scoring for Port was Steve Lee, seven, Chris Larocca, six, Mike Dickson, three, Darren Desautels, two, Fred Cockerton, two and singles to Howard Lee, Ray Meisner and Rob Tobin. The Malmont Atoms defeated the Little NHL Major Bruins 2-1. Greg Warriner and Steve Durham scored for Port Perry. Scorers were John Harman, Dave Culbert, two, Rob Baker, three, Bard Traves, Dave ton. The Malmont Farms Atom As won the championship at the Ennismore Tournament. Auctioneers lose close 3-2 decision to Oshawa The Auctioneers lost a close one Friday night by the score of 3-2 to an Oshawa NHL team. They came out slowly after a late game Thursday night in Belleville, but Port Perry took the early lead on a nice goal by Jeffrey Tarbotton assisted by Spencer Churchill. Oshawa came back minutes later to tie the score. Trevor Lance, shaking off the flu, had a few good chances as did Geof- frey Simpson. Thomas Lee made several good stops to keep the Oshawa team at bay. Oshawa did finally manage to get another shot past Port Perry to take the lead again at 8:45 of the second period. Dylan - Harper and Garret Brown stood their ground on defence, not giv- ing the other team any room to move. Justin Moffatt and Kevin Robins played strongly on of- fence. Mark Duncan had an- other strong game in the cor- ners and Michael Thompson \ played a robust game, breaking up some Oshawa rushes. Jeffrey Tarbotton scored again for Port Perry to tie the game at 2-2, assisted by Spen- cer Churchill and Steven Ma- cLennan. Gord Smith had an- other strong game with his tenacious checking.
