The Ivory Forest Belles won the silver medals at the Mark- ham annual tournament The Pineridge Atom Bs won the consolation of their tourna- ment in Port Perry. Wade Ritch- ie won the MVP award for the consolation¥inal. The Bantam As won the con- solation final of their home tour- nament. Bill Zaparanuik won two MVP awards during the day. The XL Gas Bar Eaglettes Novice ringette team and the Guardian Drugs Tween A team both captured the gold at the Port Perry Ringette Tourna- ment. The Community Nursing The Pearce Auction Novice squad ed their season 1n third spot and will meet Uxbridge in the playoffs. Local residents Zoltan Domik and Larry Emmerson donated $500 to the Uxbridge Swim Club to send its members, in- cluding a Port Perry swimmer, to the national meet in New Brunswick. The Port Perry ModJacks took a two games to nothing lead in their playoff series with Ux- bridge. Prior to the game a pres- entation was made to ModJack Shannon Todd, who was named rookie of the year for the league. The Port Perry Midget As and the Midget Bs both took a 2-0 lead in their opening playoff se- ries' with Milton and Ennis- more. The Novice Auctioneers ad- vanced to the second round of playoffs. Willy Houthuys of Port Perry B was the big winner at the COS- DRA snowmobile drag races on Lake Scugog. Marsha Clouthier won the 100 and 200-metre butterfly events at the National Swim Meet in New Brunswick. She qualified for the National Swim Team which will compete in Germanyin April. FEBRUARY The local winners of the Knights of Columbus free throw competition were declared. Mike Giannini, Mike Lang, Dan Drebit, Derek Crossman, Ron Farrell, Melissa Hooker, Pam Goble, Mandi Coates, Melissa Gouldburn and Amber Walsh advanced to the district level fi- nals. The Guardian Drug Tweens won the silver medals in North Bay. The Pearce Auction Novice squad claimed all the marbles at the Little Britain tourna- ment. The Port Perry MoJacks end- handed the Uxbridge Bruins a 4-1series loss. The Petites won silver medals in Richmond Hill. The Cartwright Dyno's Poker - Run raised $200 for the hospital building fund.
