It also appears that the scoring race will not be decided until the final week also as the top five are bunched tightly togeth- er. In game one of this last week's play, the B&R Swam- pers solidified their hold on third place as they downed the Framer's Gallery 3-1. Brian Po- meroy from Dale Lown provid- ed the lone marker in the open- ing period for B&R. Early in the second half, they pulled ahead by a pair as Pomeroy earned himself another point in setting up Mike Mole's goal. The Fram- ers pulled within one two min- utes later as Keith Dalton fed Eric Kristensen. B&R put the icing on the cake when Pomeroy scored his second with Dan Tay- lor drawing the assist. Game Two had the Black- stock Brewers up against Woody's and, in the spoiler role, drew a point off them, thereby relegating them temporarily to second place. Woody's scored first midway through the sec- ond after the opening period had ended in a scoreless tie. Gene Woodrow from Neil Woo- drow accounted for the goal. Blackstock was not to be denied as they knotted it shortly there- after with Ron Short scoring un- assisted. They then pulled ahead a minute later when Short and Tom Wotten set up Scott MacLennan. Before the end of the period, Woody's tied it up with Ken St. Amant scor- ing from Gord Jones and Jim Gregg, therefore setting up overtime. In the extra period, Blackstock again went ahead on a goal by Wayne McGuigan First place now belongs solely to the Brooklin Bruins as they blanked Emmerson's Insu- rance by a 5-0 total. The Bruins netted a pair in the first half with Rob Kivell and Nick Att- wood doing the damage. Rick Mitchell, Wayne Tate, Jim Ma- son and Ken Lynde supplied the assists. In the second half, Ron Attwood scored a pair with the final tally going to Chris Le- pine. Nick Attwood 'was the playmaker of the period as he set up all three goals with a sin- gle assist also going to Ron Att- wood on Lynde's goal. Between the pipes, Jim Raaphorst re- corded his league-leading eighth shutout to further re- duce his goals against average to a sparkling 0.75.
